"Prepare your heart to seek the law of the Lord; and to live by it."

New Features Starting in March 2013 for the Spiritual Fitness Program

Starting in March 2013 our Spiritual Fitness Program will include two new features:

1) A morning and evening reminder and call to personal prayer; and

2) A meditative quote from the early and historic church that provides insight into how you can commune with the Spirit of the Living God and apply in a very practical sense the virtues to which every Christian should aspire.

These two new features will help guide you from the ink stained pages of Scripture into Spirit and Truth — the true goal of Scripture reading for every seeker.

This update to our Spiritual Fitness Program is a prime example of why we offer this program through a subscription service. Doing so allows us to monthly provide you updates and improvements so your experience will keep getting better and better. No other Program provides such a consistent approach to regularly improving the experience for the participant.

And think about it, how can we be out "debating" doctrines if we're not daily communing with our Lord? If we're not in a Spiritual Fitness Program that is providing the coaching we need to continually grow?

Consider the words of St. Antony the Great, of Egypt, who lived back in the first centuries of Christendom between 251 and 356 AD:

"There is no profit in studying doctrines unless the life of one's soul is acceptable and conforms to God's will. The cause of all evils is delusion, self-deception and ignorance of God."

But how can we ensure our soul is acceptable and conforms to God's will if we don't know, and then practice, the prescribed means through which He bids us come?

Which leads me to ask you to consider this question: How can one even claim to be a disciple of Jesus if they don't know the commandments, statutes and judgments by which He bids us come, and through which He then rules His Kingdom?

You'll find all of this resolved in the Church of Christ's Glory Spiritual Fitness Program.

It is here that the prescribed means of entering into relationship with Jesus Christ are implemented… systematically, yes, it's true, but through a system that naturally engenders the unique ability of each participant.

You see, a truly spiritual system will not turn all participants into clones of one another, but instead will bring out the unique abilities of each participant so that together they will provide a full representation of Christ's body and thus of His Church.

This is the "magic" of entering into relationship with Christ according to His prescribed means!

To get started you just need to get started :)

Your investment from a dollars and cents standpoint is minimal; and your long term risk is non-existent, as you can unsubscribe at any time.

Remember:

Every athlete and every musician gains proficiency in the science and the art of their craft through continual study and daily practice. In the same way, those who seek the life of holiness, that is, to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, must also continually study and daily practice both the science and the art of their craft.

The COCG Spiritual Fitness Program is the very vehicle through which you can truly practice the science and the art of being a disciple of Jesus Christ.

It is the vehicle through which you can call upon God to open the eyes of your heart, so that you may see the value of prayer and of spiritual reading when properly understood and practically applied.

I shall leave you with this final quote from St. Antony:

"Concentration on holiness of living, together with attentiveness to the soul, lead to goodness and the love of God. For he who seeks God finds Him through persistence in prayer."

May God Bless You and Keep You in ALL HIS WAYS!

When The Heart Is Estranged From The Business Of Self-Examination…

January 26th, 2013 | 0 Comments

Picture 005

"Prepare your heart to seek the law of the Lord; and to live by it."

When The Heart Is Estranged From The Business Of Self-Examination…

So what was Gregory the Great speaking of when he penned these words? Let's see the rest of the quote:

"When the heart is estranged from the business of self-examination, it does not even consider the losses it is suffering, or know how great they are. For neither did Hezekiah believe himself to be sinning when he showed his treasures to the strangers. When in heart we transgress, what we are doing within ourselves is hidden from men. Yet in the eyes of the Judge, we sin." (Gregory the Great, about 540 AD to March 12, 604 AD)

Now he was writing here in consideration of the works of King Hezekiah, specifically of his acts recorded in 4 Kingdoms (2nd Kings) 20:12-21 (a reading this past week in our Spiritual Fitness Program). Hezekiah had just received from God through the prophet Isaiah healing and another 15 years added to his life; and a gift from the king of Babylon who had heard he was sick. Then, without a thought, rejoiced more in these gifts of strangers than in the gift of God, bringing upon his house destruction.

How do we avoid such sin in our life?

How do we maintain the business of self-examination, such that we enjoy the fruits of the good life, and with great care prepare for the lives of our children and grand-children as well?

For in truth, our world today is suffering a similar fate as that pronounced upon Hezekiah: God is removing "everything in the house of Christendom, and all that our fathers of the faith accumulated." (see 4 Kingdoms (2nd Kings) 20:16-17)

And why?

For our simple lack of maintaining the business of self-examination!

For it is through this steady failure to daily spend time in the Word of our Lord and understand how to practice in real life His Commandments, Statutes, and Judgments, that has led to the continual shrinking of Christ's Church and the loss of every Christian nation under the sun.

And it is only through a return to spending time daily in His uncensored word and thus re-engaging in the daily business of self-examination that we can turn the tide and once again start Christ's Church a-growing.

Nothing else will make a difference.

No programs, no special events, no emotional reformations or other histrionics will make a difference.

Only a steady return to the basics of spending time with Christ through His uncensored word in morning and evening prayer will change the hearts of men and once again turn the world upside down.

And this simple thing, returning men unto daily self-examination through the Word of God, is at the core of our ministry.

If you'd like to learn more, don't hesitate to contact me directly.

To get started, you can join our Spiritual Fitness Program today by clicking this link and getting started.

May God Bless you as you return your heart and soul to the business of self-examination…

Amen.

P.S. The COCG Spiritual Fitness Program forms the basis of COCG daily teaching and is my unique offering to you.

It is based on the truth that: "We cannot know Jesus personally or his plan for our lives without reading the Bible." (St. Jerome, 347 AD to 420 AD)

It is in essence the daily reading of Scripture following the reading plan of the historic church using my unique uncensored New Testament compilation — built over the course of 30-plus years of study — with over 1,250 notes teaching early church preterism. It is this daily reading of uncensored Scripture that will enable you to align your life with the law of God.

The Spiritual Fitness Program is where you'll 'make sense of the Bible' along with the world, its culture, and all its craziness. You'll do this as you develop your understanding of some core truths that are no longer taught in the churches of today, be they futurist churches, preterist churches, or whatever else.

Interestingly enough, pretty much all of the early church fathers would be cast out of today's churches as "heretics" because their understanding of Scripture was so different than that of the church's today. This is ample proof that the traditions of men have overtaken the faith of our fathers. So, working backward in time, you will need to overcome the following "traditions" of men in order to understand Christianity as did the early church fathers. Here they are:

1) You must overcome the "emergent" teachings of the modern church including their "all ways lead to heaven" fables and their bent toward "universalism"

2) You must overcome the loss by the twentieth century church of the natural law summarized by the ten commandments along with their many ordinances and judgments

3) You must overcome the loss by the reformers of the balance between God's sovereignty and man's free will

4) You must overcome the loss of unity in the Church body initiated by the split into "East" and "West" factions and then multiplied egregiously by the reformers

5) You must overcome the imposition of creeds over the very words of Scripture

As you overcome all of these "traditions", you will be well on your way to understanding the faith of our fathers.

(See here and here for more information regarding the Scriptural basis for daily reading as daily worship. Beyond this Scriptural instruction, I know of no other biblical way for a person to reboot their faith. Indeed, only through rebuilding your personal relationship with Jesus Christ by immersing yourself daily in His uncensored Word can you truly reboot your faith!)

The Power of Christian Living

January 20th, 2013 | 0 Comments

Picture 005

"Prepare your heart to seek the law of the Lord; and to live by it."

The Power of Christian Living

So what is the power of Christian living?

Is it to be found in a never ending "spate" of words?

Consider the rest of the verse from which this phrase comes: "For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of a spate of word but of the power of Christian living." (First Corinthians 4:20)

Now I wonder, as I consider this reading from today's Spiritual Fitness Program, if we might not do well and be better served as Christ's body to produce less words, and, as the verse says, instead produce more living in the power of the Christian life…

If this be true, that we'd be better served as said, how could one achieve such a thing?

For me, being a writer, producing a "spate of word" is not uncommon. In fact, it's a fault for which I must always be on the lookout. So I must be especially concerned with "how" one can achieve such a thing.

I think the "how" is connected to the power of Christian living that must be evident in order for our words to really have any meaning at all.

You see, if the power underlying our words is a recognizably clear Christian life, then our need for words will not only greatly diminish, but the resultant "less words" we use will be by nature of our daily life far more powerful.

This is a biblical lesson we take to heart here at the Church of Christ's Glory.

And part of the reason why we began our Spiritual Fitness Program.

Remember the words from First Corinthians 4:17b: "And he will remind you of those ways of living in Christ Jesus which I teach in every church to which I go."

You see, our Spiritual Fitness Program removes you from that disease of a "spate of word" and puts you squarely in the place of "student of the word."

And as a student, listening will be your first priority.

Listening to Christ's words; being reminded of those ways of living in Christ Jesus which are taught throughout Scripture; and quieting your mind from all other noise.

Directly leading to an increase in the power of your Christian life, and thereby amplifying your fewer words ten times over.

This is exactly what I have found to be the case in my own life.

God Bless.

Daily Meditations: Psalm 18:1-12 (LXX)

"Prepare your heart to seek the law of the Lord; and to live by it."

Take some time for your daily meditations using the Wisdom teachings of Scripture…

You can work your way through some of the world's most sublime writings on the subject of Wisdom as we share passages day by day. Follow along and see what you might learn, and how such learning might change you for the better!

This is from my reading this morning, I thought you might enjoy it as much as I did…

From Psalm 18:1-12 (LXX)

The heavens declare the glory of God,
the firmament shows the creation of His hands.

Day to day utters speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech nor language where their voices are not heard.

Their proclamation went forth into all the earth,
and their words to the ends of the world.

In the sun He set His tabernacle;
and it rejoices exceedingly like a bridegroom coming forth from his bridal chamber,
like a strong man to run a race.

Its rising is from one end of heaven,
and its circuit runs to the other end;
and nothing shall be hidden from its heat.

The law of the Lord is blameless, converting souls.

The testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making children wise.

The ordinances of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.

The commandment of the Lord is bright, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring unto ages of ages.

The judgments of the Lord are true, being altogether just.

More to be desired are they than gold and a very precious stone,
sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

For indeed Your servant keeps them;
In keeping them there is great reward.

To start your own relationship with the WORD according to the rhythm of the Creator, join in the COCG Spiritual Fitness Program…

Daily Meditations: Wisdom of Solomon 1:1-5

January 1st, 2013 | 0 Comments

"Prepare your heart to seek the law of the Lord; and to live by it."

Take some time for your daily meditations using the Wisdom teachings of Scripture…

You can work your way through some of the world's most sublime writings on the subject of Wisdom as we share passages day by day. Follow along and see what you might learn, and how such learning might change you for the better!

1 Love righteousness, you that be judges on the earth: think about the Lord with a good heart, and in simplicity of heart seek him.

2 For he will be found by those who do not tempt him; and he shows himself unto those who do not distrust him.

3 For dishonest reasoning separates from God: and his power, when it is tried, reproves the unwise.

4 For wisdom shall not enter into a soul that plots evil; nor shall it dwell in the body that is involved in sin.

5 For the Holy Spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and remove from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide when unrighteousness comes in.

Take some time today to meditate on these teachings from the books of Wisdom found in Scripture, and...

Do consider starting out the new year in the WORD by participating in our Spiritual Fitness Program…

Can You Unloose Jesus’ Shoes?

December 29th, 2012 | 0 Comments

Picture 005

Today we address the question: “What is your Heaven View?”

And: “Did you know that your Heaven View directly impacts your Worldview?”

And most importantly: “By your Heaven and Worldview, Can you unloose Jesus’ shoes?”

Let’s begin with a brief review. You see, in ancient (but never old!) Christian truth, one never began discussions about a “worldview” without first addressing the issue of an appropriate “Heaven View.” And, as a Ministry committed to “helping you make sense of the Bible,” we follow this same pattern: we always focus attention on an appropriate Heaven View as the foundation for any and every aspect of our Christ centered worldview.

Hear the words of Origen (185-254 AD) as he addresses this subject: “If the passage about John the Baptist not being worthy to untie Jesus’ shoes possesses a hidden meaning, we ought not to pass over it. I think that the Incarnation, when the Son of God takes on flesh and bones, is one of the shoes, and the descent into hell is the other. It is said in Psalm 16: ‘You will not leave my soul in hell.’ And Peter, in his general epistle, mentions Jesus’ descent into hell. Therefore, the one who can show the meaning of both sojourns in a worthy manner, is able to unloose Jesus’ shoes.”

So this is my goal here at the Church of Christ's Glory, to show the meaning of both sojourns, and thus present the full story of the gospel, the full depth of the good news of Jesus Christ and the very real presence of His eternal Kingdom.

In this light, consider this simple truth regarding an appropriate Heaven View, a truth preached with great vigor in the early Church, but in today’s Church, a truth that is rarely, if ever, mentioned. It has to do with the work of Jesus Christ directly after the cross. You see, the work of Christ did not end with His shed blood, nor was the next step the bodily resurrection; instead, there was much work to do in the heavenly realm between these two events. Work that had, and has even today, powerful implications for every aspect of your daily and eternal well being.

In a nutshell, this simple truth is this: Directly after the cross, Jesus Christ, the most heroic and mighty warrior of all the ages, implemented our present triumphant state, by, for all intents and purposes, ending the war in the heavenly realm with His triumphant victorious battle against Satan directly after the cross. For it was indeed Jesus Christ the Lamb of God, who in the Spirit as that Lion of the tribe of Juda, immediately after leaving the cross that Good Friday afternoon, descended triumphantly into Hellunlike every man before Him (Acts 2:29-35). So we read in First Peter: “And it was in the Spirit that He transferred over and preached to the spirits in prison.” (1 Pet 3:19)

Then, upon His arrival into Hell, our Lord, warring righteously for the Kingdom, immediately took hold of the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and cast him bound and defeated into the bottomless pit (Revelation 20:1-3). Then, after shutting and sealing him up, He broke down its gates (Psalm 107:6). Through His preaching He then called forth the captive saints, initiating the Anastasis or First Resurrection (John 5:25); as He had once foreshadowed when He called forth Lazarus from the grave (John 11:43)–even by the sound of this mighty Shepherd’s own voice calling out to His lost sheep–and then celebrated His victory over the devil, with these saints, that final Saturday Sabbath in fulfillment of the Millennium (Second Peter 3:8, Revelation 20:2-3)–right there in the depths of Hell, in what had been their prison cells, but was now “Paradise” (Luke 16:22a, Luke 23:42-43)–as His presence filled that place.

Jesus then provided undeniable proof of these events through the glorious demonstration of His power via the bodily resurrection–wherein He literally raised His body from the grave (John 2:19)–and finally, the glorious Ascension (Acts 1:9-11), and the taking of captivity captive to reign with Him forever in Heaven! (As foretold in the Old Testament: “Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.” [Ps 68:18] And as spoken of in the New Testament as already fulfilled: “Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” [Eph 4:8])

Can you see what a glorious and triumphant warrior is this Jesus Christ! Look and see how this mighty warrior is described: “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he that sat upon him was Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed with fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the heathen: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation 19:11-16)

So, in order to understand the depth of the gospel message, this beautiful love story that is Scripture, one is completely dependent upon a proper Heaven View. If we are ever to achieve a powerful and mature Christian worldview, it must have as its foundation this incredible and victorious Heaven View. Now, it is true that we never want to forget the simple basics for salvation, for the gospel of the Kingdom is really rather simple–we are all sinners, Jesus died on the cross for us, and if we confess this and believe He rose from the dead and is indeed God, we will be saved. But, once we grasp this message, we do want to move deeper into the faith in order to build a proper and appropriately powerful Christ centered worldview. It is here that only a proper Heaven View can provide the means.

So our counsel to every soul interested in the full depth of the gospel message is simple, continually grow in the knowledge of Christ; building first a proper Heaven View, and then, upon this rock, this solid foundation which proclaims the true heroic greatness of the living God incarnate Jesus Christ and His sojourn in both the Heavenly and earthly realms, build a proper worldview. This is the means to a deep and powerful faith. This is the worthy manner in which you too will be able to “unloose” Jesus’ shoes.

To dive right in and begin to understand a proper Heaven View for your own self, get my free download titled "The 7 Lost Truths".

To go further and build a solid foundation upon which you can more deeply understand a full and complete Heaven View, and a proper Worldview as well, buy my paperback book titled "The Pearl" online through Amazon.

And most importantly of all, daily build upon your new Heaven View and Worldview by engaging in my totally unique Spiritual Fitness Program.

And now my usual reminder to never forget the purpose behind the COCG mission to increase daily scripture reading amongst the body:

"We cannot know Jesus personally or his plan for our lives without reading the Bible." (St. Jerome 347-420 AD)

And also, that only a return to the Scriptures of the early and historic Church will produce the kind of results of which St. Jerome speaks.

Modern Bibles with their notes based on silly fables simply won't cut it!

The unique nature of the Paul's Primers New Testament Compilation and Book of Common Prayer is found in both its uncensored Scripture and its over 1,250 notes that teach Early Church Preterism. No other Bible teaches you both the form and function of so much of what happens in Scripture according to the early and historic view of the Church. And no other Bible available today is uncensored by the modern church and its modern doctrines. The fact is that every Bible available to you today, other than this one, is censored by the traditions of men who promote new doctrines unheard of in the early church, as well as being censored by people of other religions who don't even believe that Jesus Christ is the living God Incarnate. This uncensored Scripture along with the ECP notes are what make this Bible reading program so different and so special.

Indeed, with our Spiritual Fitness Program, you will engage yourself in reading Scripture as it was read for 1900 years, simply and easily through our unique New Testament compilation which contains over 1,250 notes based on the teaching of the early and historic church. It is this system that will enable you to align your life with the law of God.

The Gospel (Good News) of the Kingdom in Summary:
As you consider participating in the Spiritual Fitness Program, remember that here in the regeneration of the Sovereign God Jesus Christ you are created "good" (Genesis 1:31) in the same sense as was Adam, and like him you have the working capacity of free will to choose, of your own free will, which direction you will go.

This does not mean that you have a free pass into Heaven (nor did Adam); but it does mean that you have access to an indestructible path into Heaven (Which Adam did not! Oh how much better a creation we enjoy than Adam ever knew!!!).

So the question for you is the same as it is for all of us in every generation, the same as it was for Adam — but with a better promise built upon an indestructible everlasting Way to the Tree of Life: Will you humble yourself (become poor in spirit), recognize you can't complete the circuit of the underworld alone (as a 'sinner' you can't enter Heaven on your own power), and then confess your sins and faithfully accept the one and only way into Heaven, Jesus Christ; or will you choose, of your own free will, to blaspheme the heavenly order (the same sin of pride that had Satan cast from Heaven into Tartarus) and force your own blotting out of the Book of Life.

To choose the first way of those "poor in spirit" saints who through their example have provided a good report — by a changed life that shows forth the fruits of their confession, repentance and conversion —
1) Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as God and your Savior,
2) Confess your sins and your faith in Him by the words of your mouth, and
3) Sign up here to engage yourself in the most noble task of amending your life by building your relationship with Jesus Christ through daily reading of His Word; securely laying the foundation in the Law of God for showing forth the fruits of your salvation through both your personal and corporate life as a member of Christ's body.

Six Steps To Total Reboot

Six Steps To Total Reboot

In order to understand something more about the Bible…

Something Spiritual for sure…

And something Eminently Christian…

You'll need to join us in going backward in time…

Way back…

Back before the modern church and its "emergent" teachings.

Back before the "reformation" and its introduction of God's Sovereignty beyond the realm of all common sense to the destruction of the equally important truth of man's free will.

Back before the split of East and West and the subsequent evolution of the Western "Roman Catholic" church.

Back before the creeds of men that have "usurped" the very importance of Scripture and the actual words of Jesus.

Indeed, all the way back to the time before time, as came to fruition in the person of Jesus Christ.

Yes, all the way back to the faith and religion taught by Jesus Christ, masterfully expressed through the inspired pens of the Apostles, and practically demonstrated by those earliest believers who went and built the first ever nation of Christendom on planet earth.

To this you must go back.

To this you must go back if you are to fully comprehend the true faith and religion of Jesus Christ, apart from the many corruptions of men.

To this you must go back if you are to truly apply in your life the sublime teachings of Christ, our Lord and God.

You'll find laid out, in the following text, six points that will lay the groundwork for you to go all the way back to this ancient and historic faith of Christendom.

These six points or "steps", as we call them, represent the "Six Steps to Total Reboot" that you'll need in order to make sense of your Bible along with the world, its culture, and all its craziness.

Here they are in summary form…

Step 1: Full Story

Christ as King: The full Gospel of the Kingdom, including the middle third currently suppressed in the churches of today (be they futurist churches, preterist churches, or whatever else). Read The Pearl to understand the full Gospel of the Kingdom and Christ's fulfilling of Genesis 3:15, the good news some falsely say 'is just too good to be true.'

Step 2: Law and Grace

Christ as Priest: The Levitical priestly law and its constant remembrance of sin is nailed to the cross as the Grace of the perfect sacrifice – the propitiation for our sins, and the Melchizedek priesthood fulfills it and so takes its place.

Step 3: Right and Wrong

Christ as Prophet: The Natural Law (as opposed to the Levitical priestly law) which includes that codified by Moses as well as that recorded throughout the rest of Scripture – including the sublime Teaching of Christ which brings this Natural Law to fulfillment – provides the basis for our understanding of Absolute Right and Absolute Wrong.

Step 4: Public vs Private Enemies

Christ as Judge: The nature of Christ's teaching distinguishes between Public and Private enemies; we must learn the difference between the two and act accordingly.

Step 5: Form and Function

Christ as All in All: The Form of Scripture is understood through the proper application of audience relevance; the Function of Scripture is understood by properly applying the ongoing functional aspects of the Form to the eternally continuing generations – this includes the sense of urgency regarding response to the message for all believers.

Step 6: Unique Ability

Christ's Body: The nature of Christ's teaching includes the notion that each one of His children has a unique ability that adds a distinct value to the Church. It is through each born again believer identifying and applying their unique ability here on planet earth that the Church, the body of Christ, realizes its full potential in this earthly realm.

These six steps are found throughout the teaching notes of the Paul's Primers New Testament compilation. It is in your daily reading (your morning and evening prayer that fulfills one of your first responses to salvation) that you will best discover the practical application of all these points directly applied to Scripture itself.

To dive right in and determine the feasibility of ECP for your own self, get my free download titled "The 7 Lost Truths".

To go further and build a solid foundation upon which you can more deeply understand ECP, buy my paperback book titled "The Pearl" online through Amazon. The Pearl is where you'll really start to see the story that some falsely say "is just too good to be true."

And then, daily build your new relationship with Christ our God by engaging in my totally unique Spiritual Fitness Program. This is where you'll see these six steps practically applied to the sublime teaching of Jesus.

I look forward to assisting you and wish you, as a practicing Christian, God Speed.

Whole Stones

Whole Stones

Consider these words: Here at COCG we believe that if one important truth is pressed to the exclusion of another equally important truth, it becomes an error, and loses its hold upon the conscience.

Remember them as you read this Newsletter.

Now let's start with some very important verses from the book of Deuteronomy… and I quote…

As for you, you will once again obey the voice of the Lord your God and do His commandments, whatever I command you today.

The Lord your God will take great care of you in all the work of your hands, in the offspring of your womb, in the produce of your land, and in the offspring of your cattle.

For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good, as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God to keep and do all His commandments, ordinances, and judgments written in this book of the law, and if you return to the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul.

For this commandment I command you today is not too burdensome for you, nor is it far off.

It is not in heaven above, that you should say, 'Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it?'

Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it?'

But the word is very near you, in your mouth, in your heart, and in your hands, that you may do it.

See, I set before you today life and death, good and evil. If you hear the commandments of the Lord your God I command you today, to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His ordinances and judgments, then you shall live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you go to inherit.

But if your heart turns away and you do not hear, but go astray and worship different gods and serve them, I announce to you today, you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land the Lord your God is giving you, into which you are crossing over the Jordan to inherit.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you: I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing.

Therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live and love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him.

For this is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

(Deuteronomy 30:8-20)

Now the "form" of these words we see worked out in the Old Testament as an example for us today.

And the "function" of these words are lived out in every generation!

But wait! You say, "Has not the Law been done away with? The Law was nailed to the cross! Wasn't it?

Well, to answer that from the perspective of the early and historic Church, and not the perspective of the senile modern Church, I would say this: The curse of the Law was done away with, yes indeed it was nailed to the cross. But not the Law itself; not that natural Law which defines for us the Will of God, the good works of our salvation.

In the following verses I'll walk through this idea.

To start, let's read these words from Colossians 2:13-15:

"You, who were spiritually dead because of your sins and the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God has now made to share in the very life of Christ! He has forgiven you all your sins: Christ has utterly wiped out the damning evidence of broken laws and commandments which always hung over our heads, and has completely annulled it by nailing it over his own head on the cross. And then having drawn the sting of all the powers ranged against us, he exposed them, shattered, empty and defeated, in his glorious triumphant act!"

And now consider that it was the law surrounding the Levitical priesthood that was done away with, not the natural Law which defines good from evil. See this plainly according to our Lord in His word found in the book of Hebrews:

"9:6-7 – Under this arrangement the outer tent was habitually used by the priests in the regular discharge of their religious duties. But the inner tent was entered once a year only, by the High Priest alone, bearing a sacrifice of shed blood to be offered for his own sins and those of the people.

The old arrangements stood as symbols until Christ, the truth, came

"9:8-10 – By these things the Holy Spirit means us to understand that the way to the holy of holies was not yet open, that is, so long as the first tent and all that it stands for stood uninterrupted. In this outer tent we see a picture of the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered and yet are incapable of cleansing the life of the worshiper. The ceremonies are concerned with food and drink, various washings, rules for bodily conduct, only intended to be valid until the time of reformation when Christ should establish the truth.

"9:11-14 – But now Christ has come among us, the High Priest of the good things already here, and has passed through a greater and more perfect tent which no human hand has made (for it was no part of this world of ours). It was not with goats' or calves' blood but with His own blood that He entered once and for all into the holy of holies, having won for us men eternal reconciliation with God. And if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a burnt heifer were, when sprinkled on the unholy, sufficient to make the body pure, then how much more will the blood of Christ Himself, Who by His eternal Spirit offered Himself to God as the perfect sacrifice, purify our conscience from dead works, that you may serve the living God!"

This is even further clarified in the teaching of our Lord in Hebrews Chapter 10:

Sacrifices under the Law were "typical" not final

"10:1-4 – The Law possessed only a dim outline or shadow of the benefits Christ would bring and did not actually reproduce them. Consequently it was incapable of perfecting the souls of those who offered their regular annual sacrifices. For if it had, surely the sacrifices would have been discontinued – on the grounds that the worshipers, having been really cleansed, would have had no further consciousness of sin. In practice, however, the sacrifices amounted to an annual reminder of sins; for the blood of bulls and goats cannot really remove the guilt of sin.

Christ, however, makes the old order obsolete and makes the perfect sacrifice

"10:5-7 – Therefore, when Christ enters the world, He says: 'Sacrifice and offering You desire not, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, Behold, I have come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me), to do Your will, O God'.

"10:8-10 – After saying, "Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them" (which are made according to the Law, He (Christ) then says, "Behold, I have come to do Your will." That means He is dispensing with the old order of sacrifices, and establishing a new order of obedience to the Will of God. And by that Will we have been made holy by the single unique offering of the body of Christ.

"10:11-16 – Every human priest stands day by day performing his religious duties and offering time after time the same sacrifices – which can never actually remove sins. But He, after offering one sacrifice for sins for ever, took His seat at the right hand of God, from that time forward expecting till "His enemies be made His footstool". For by virtue of that one offering He has perfected for all time every one whom He makes holy. The Holy Spirit Himself endorses this truth for us, when He says, first: 'This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them'.

"10:17 – And then, He adds, 'Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more'.

"10:18 – Where God grants remission of sin there can be no question of making further atonement.

Through Christ we can confidently approach God

"10:19-25 – So by virtue of the blood of Jesus, you and I, my brothers, may now have courage to enter the holy of holies by way of the One who died and is yet alive, who has made for us a holy means of entry by Himself passing through the veil, that is, His own flesh. Further, since we have a great High Priest set over the household of God, let us draw near with true hearts and fullest confidence, knowing that our inmost souls have been purified by the sprinkling of His blood just as our bodies are cleansed by the washing of clean water. In this confidence let us hold on to the hope that we profess without the slightest hesitation – for He is utterly dependable – and let us think of one another and how we can encourage each other to love and do good deeds. And let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the custom of some; but let us do all we can to help one another's faith, and this the more earnestly as we see the final day drawing ever nearer.

"10:26-31 – Now if we sin deliberately after we have known and accepted the truth, there can be no further sacrifice for sin for us but only a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fire of God's indignation, which will one day consume all that sets itself against Him. The man who showed contempt for Moses' Law died without hope of appeal on the evidence of two or three of his fellows. How much more dreadful a punishment will he be thought to deserve who has poured scorn on the Son of God, treated like dirt the blood of the Covenant which had once made him holy, and insulted the very Spirit of grace? For we know the One who said: 'Vengeance is Mine: I will repay'. And again: 'The Lord will judge His people'. Truly it is a terrible thing for a man who has done this to fall into the hands of the living God!

"10:32-38 – You must never forget those past days when you had received the light and went through such a great and painful struggle. It was partly because everyone's eye was on you as you endured harsh words and hard experiences, partly because you threw in your lot with those who suffered much the same. You sympathized with those who were put in prison and you were cheerful when your own goods were confiscated, for you knew that you had a much more solid and lasting treasure in Heaven. Don't throw away your trust now – it carries with it a rich reward in the world to come. Patient endurance is what you need if, after doing God's will, you are to receive what He has promised. 'For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry. And My righteous one shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My Soul has no pleasure in him'.

"10:39 – Surely we are not going to be men who cower back and are lost, but men who maintain their faith until the salvation of their souls is complete!"

So these verses should make it clear to you that it was the old order of sacrifices that have been done away with; along with their curse; which was the constant remembrance they brought of sin.

And in so doing, in so making clean your conscience through that holy means of entry by Himself passing through the veil that the old order of sacrifices could never do, our Lord then put what into our "now made ready" hearts and minds?

His Laws!

You see, God is no fool… He did not attempt to write anything into your heart and mind until you were made ready to so receive it; and having been made ready, he would not have then written into your heart and mind something He had nailed to His own cross.

So, you see, and this is a straightforward teaching of the early and historic Church, our Lord did away with the old order of sacrifices, replacing them with the perfect sacrifice that could actually cleanse your conscience, and thus make you ready to receive His Law in your very heart and mind.

And now, really, this is just using your common sense, what could these verses possibly mean when they speak of "sinning deliberately" if there is no Law, given that sin is by definition the breaking of the Law?

I think the ONLY way you can return to the logical and reasonable faith of our fathers is for you to STOP listening to the senile teachings of the modern Church and return yourself to a common sense approach like that taken by the early and historic Church.

Now, granted, there are some crazy beliefs from throughout the past 2000 years, but those we can see and set aside. Use your head! That's all you need to do. God revealed the mystery, he has not made it yet darker…

So with this all in mind, I want you now to see that it is not the "world" or the "enemies of Christ" or Satan or your supposed "fallen nature" or the supposed "curse" from the fall or any other such nonsense that has left you today in a world where there no longer remains a single Christian nation.

It is instead all the ridiculous false teachings of the modern Church, that has caused all of this.

Yes, remember that there was a time when the great majority of the intellectuals of each generation were Christians! Why? Because the Christian faith made sense.

But no longer, not today, in fact today the great majority of the intellectuals are NOT Christians. Why? Because the Christian faith no longer makes sense. It has been altered beyond recognition.

This is why it is time for a reboot.

And that's what I have done here at COCG, a complete reboot of the faith back to the fundamental principle-based teachings of the early and historic Church. Not rules based teaching. Not law based teaching. But teachings based on the fundamental principles of right and wrong as clearly taught throughout Scripture.

So what would the early and historic Church teach about the modern Church and its senile understanding of God's Law?

Well, for one they would point out that you have passed not over the Jordan (the form), but over the river of death itself into everlasting life (the function).

Therefore, you have lost your inheritance in the modern world (the world itself being your inheritance in this life as you have been made priests and kings of the new eternal order (the function), not just a small parcel of land (the form)); all because you have participated in false sacrifices and offerings, when simple obedience was the only requirement. (1 Samuel 15:22)

Why have you lost your inheritance such that there remains not a single Christian nation on planet earth? Because the modern Church has left the Law of its Maker.

The modern Church has forsaken the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ its God: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." (John 14:15)

The modern Church has forsaken to do all His commandments, ordinances, and judgments.

The modern Church has preached Grace, but forsaken the Law.

The modern Church has lost the faith of Abraham, whose works proved his faith (James 2:21-23), and adorned its faith with "other" works not according to the word of the commandment.

The modern Church has lost its way.

Really you should read all of Deuteronomy chapters 27 through 30 to see the fundamental principle of blessings and cursings based on the simple truth of cause and effect.

After so doing, then build again your altar to the Lord from scratch, this time eschewing the modern Church and instead building with the whole stones prescribed.

The whole stones of uncensored Scripture.

The whole stones where you are saved by faith, and prove your faith by living in accord with the Law of the Maker of that faith.

Works will not get you into heaven. Never have. Never will.

Salvation is by faith alone.

But faith without works is dead.

And your maker has defined for you the works of His children.

Yes, the whole stones of the early and historic Church as built upon the uncensored Scripture of their day, these call out to you still today.

Only these whole stones will return unto you, the blessings accorded the true sons of Christ.

Salvation by faith alone is a right doctrine. Indeed it is.

But pressed beyond the realm of thinking men to the exclusion of another, equally important truth, it is rendered impotent. It becomes error. And ultimately loses its hold on the conscious of all thinking men.

This is what has happened to the modern church.

This is why the intellectuals have fled her walls.

Having pressed the doctrine of salvation by faith alone (a true doctrine indeed) beyond the realm of common sense to the exclusion of the equally important truth of God's commandments, ordinances, and judgments, the modern Church has now lost it hold on the consciousness of all those with the most basic notion of common sense.

And so we see, as a result of this confusion (and so many others in like manner creating confusion in the modern Church), the earth succumbing to others who never were born of the Son.

All the while, the answer to this sad state of affairs lies hidden right before your eyes. Not above the heavens. Not beyond the seas. But in the very Law written in your own heart and mind; whose good works are in your very own hands.

Let's look at this in the most practical of terms…

If you tell someone that God is love, and His only commandment is to love God and one another, the first question that arises is "which God shall I love?" And you would then answer by going to Scripture, into the "Law", and showing that Jesus is the one God you should love, for it is by His name alone that you can be saved.

And then the question would arise, "But how do I show this love?" And you would go into Scripture and show how those who love God are baptized, and then partake regularly in communion.

Then one might ask, "Can I love this same God by other names? Or can I love other gods along with this one?" And you would go into Scripture and show in the "Law" how there is only One God, and there is no other "way" into heaven but through this One God. And you would ask me to believe it is so based on this "Law" written in Scripture.

Then the question might arise, "So how do I love my neighbor?" And you would probably point me to the parable of Christ regarding the love of your neighbor.

And then one might say, "Love means to support my neighbor in every way regardless of their lifestyle, then, correct?" And you would probably point to Scripture and start to put "rules" around what kind of love is acceptable in the eyes of this One God. For instance, you might say that according to Scripture, and the "Law" found therein, marital love is only right when it is between one man and one woman.

And then the question would inevitably be asked, "But I thought you taught that the Law has been done away with? That it is only Love and through my relationship with God I will 'know' what it means to love."

And all your credibility as a modern day Christian would be gone.

Maybe now you can see, then, how it is that only by properly discerning the Word; only by understanding the difference between the law nailed to the cross and the Law that remains; will you ever see the true value of your Christian faith

May Christ our God, Jesus our King, show unto you the resolution upon which His peace rests.

Indeed, with our Spiritual Fitness Program, you will engage yourself in reading Scripture as it was read for 1900 years, simply and easily through our unique New Testament compilation which contains over 1,250 notes based on the teaching of the early and historic church.

To choose the first way of those "poor in spirit" saints who through their example have provided a good report — by a changed life that shows forth the fruits of their confession, repentance and conversion — 1) Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as God and your Savior, 2) Confess your sins and your faith in Him by the words of your mouth, and 3) Sign up here to engage yourself in the most noble task of amending your life by building your relationship with Jesus Christ through daily reading of His Word; securely laying the foundation for showing forth the fruits of your salvation through both your personal and corporate life as a member of Christ's body.

Friday Morning Meditation

"The truth does not allow room for human tradition to change it, either by addition or by subtraction. False prophets arise among the people of God, and the Lord permits this in order to allow our free will to operate and to show our love for God. For we are not robots in which the grace of God operates against the devil apart from synergy on our part." (a quote from the Orthodox Septuagint Study Bible teaching the doctrines of the early church)

Daily Worship — Sanctifying Your Life and Times

Daily Worship — Sanctifying Your Life and Times

"Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 'Command the children of Israel and say to them, 'My gifts, My presents, My burnt offerings, you shall take care to offer to Me as a sweet aroma in My feasts.' So you shall say to them, 'These are My burnt offerings you shall offer daily to the Lord: two unblemished male lambs in their first year, as a whole burnt offering perpetually. The one male lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other male lamb you shall offer in the evening; and you shall offer one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a grain offering, mixed with one-fourth of a hin of oil. This shall be a perpetual whole burnt offering, which came into being at Mount Sinai, as a sweet aroma (incense) to the Lord. Its drink offering shall be one-fourth of a hin for each male lamb; in the holy place you shall pour out the intoxicant as a drink offering to the Lord. The second male lamb you shall offer toward evening; and you shall offer it according to its grain offering and drink offering, as a sweet aroma to the Lord.'" Numbers 28:1-8

"And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of incense (sweet aroma), which are the prayers of saints." Revelation 5:8

In our last Newsletter we demonstrated how the worship of God continues in the Church even after the cross to be done according to the rhythm of the Creator laid out in the Old Testament Scripture; even though this worship has changed from offering physical sacrifices to offering prayers through time spent in His WORD — your prayers having become the incense or sweet aroma going up unto the Lord.

This is now a follow up to that last Newsletter.

For you see, very little is more important than learning how to Sanctify your Life and Times! So we need to spend more time helping you understand this point.

It is true, and will always remain so, that the most important thing in Life is believing in Jesus Christ, that He is the manifestation of the Living God, that He IS God Incarnate; for this faith is the ONLY means of salvation.

But after that, then what? That becomes the very next question one needs to answer after the question of salvation.

Search the Scriptures and you will find that they teach the answer to the question of "then what?" just as they teach that faith in Christ is the only path to salvation. And the answer is? Sanctifying your Life and Times!

But what does this mean?

Scripture teaches this as well: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual worship according to the rhythm of the Creator.

Remember, Scripture even teaches us that rhythm, summarizing it well in Numbers chapters 28 and 29.

And it starts simplywith Daily worship.

Each morning and evening. This is what the Church has historically recognized as Morning and Evening prayer. Morning and Evening prayer that has always included the reading of Scripture front to back, cover to cover, over the course of the year.

Everything else, INCLUDING SUNDAY CORPORATE WORSHIP, is built upon this base of Morning and Evening prayer. This Morning and Evening prayer being based on the reading of Scripture. This Morning and Evening prayer being the sweet aroma or incense of the offering of the saints.

This is the answer to "then what?" after you become a Christian.

So this is WHY, at the Church of Christ's Glory, the Spiritual Fitness Program provides your daily schedule for Morning and Evening prayer. This is why COCG provides the uncensored Scripture readings upon which to base your Morning and Evening prayer.

All based on the same reading schedule used by the Church for the past two thousand years.

You see, we want you to have a clear direction into the sanctification process after accepting Christ for your salvation. A clear direction based on uncensored Scripture.

Yes, a path into sanctification not based on hearing yet another man's sermon; or reading yet another man's interpretation of the good Book.

We do all this work so that you can have a clear path of sanctification based on your own quiet time spent with Christ our God! Not even being interfered with by the silly fables built into virtually every modern Bible translation available today.

This is indeed our mission: Providing uncensored Scripture that by its very nature produces in its readers a fresh perspective for a new generation of Christendom.

If the time has come for you to get started sanctifying your own Life and Times according to Scripture, where you now see the need and are ready to get into the rhythm of your Creator, you can begin your own "daily worship" in accord with the early and historic Church by joining the COCG Spiritual Fitness Program.

Upon this sanctification of your own Life and Times the rest of your life, as does the rest of all our lives, depends.

So this is why we continue to publish the Gospel of the Kingdom.

This is why we continue to publish the Paul's Primers New Testament compilation complete with the early and historic Morning and Evening reading / prayer schedule for every day of the year.

We are simply doing as our Lord commanded: as fishermen casting our net into the sea of humanity resting gracefully in the promised harvest to be generated by God Himself through His very own WORD

May Christ our God, Jesus our King, shower upon you His Immeasurable Blessings.
