So Naturally We Proclaim Christ! Even Christ In You, The Hope of Glory!
by admin ~ September 29th, 2009
Why did the Apostle Paul say this. . . “So, naturally, we proclaim Christ!” Simple, he had just finished a wonderful section on the glory that is Jesus Christ in Colossians chapter 1. This section ended with the words: “And the secret is simply this: Christ in you! Yes, Christ in you bringing with him the hope of all glorious things to come.” So, obviously, proclaiming that “Christ in you!” is the secret mystery toward which all history had been moving, he went on to say:
“So, naturally, we proclaim Christ! We warn everyone we meet, and we teach everyone we can, all that we know about him, so that, if possible, we may bring every man up to his full maturity in Christ. This is what I am working at all the time, with all the strength that God gives me.”
I love this teaching, and think it useful for all who call on the name of God. For only through the name of Jesus Christ will any of us truly know God, for God Himself became Incarnate and is in fact Jesus Christ!
Proclaim Christ, lift up His name, and just see how that name can light up even the darkest of places. This was the Apostle Paul’s calling, and by command of God, the continual calling of Christians in every proceeding generation.
We discuss such teachings regularly in our writings and other Ministry services, especially in our Daily Scripture Reading Service, where each day we wrap the Daily Scripture Reading with an informative and heartfelt Inductive Bible Study. The amazing love of God is always at the core of each ten minute daily podcast, and the doctrine is always in support of the culmination of God’s love—the Gospel of Salvation, as evidenced in the writings of the early church fathers.
