Paul's Primers Book One—The Pearl: The Captivating Story of the Wondrous Love of God.

“This first book in the Paul's Primers series is outstanding! It's as though the author just draws you in, lifts you up, and then has you feeling the power and glory of Jesus Christ before you even know it. Excellent read—I highly recommend it.”

The Pearl weaves the full gospel story of the present Kingdom of Jesus Christ into the first three chapters of Genesis, bringing out the simple beauty of the creation account along the way. Even the crisis of choice inherent in God's glorious creation is powerfully portrayed—the interplay of free will between the angels, God, and mankind providing the means.”

Book Review

This is a book I truly enjoyed reading—and I look forward to Book Two, as this appears to be the first book in an ongoing Paul's Primers series. Titled a Primer, I found it did remain consistent throughout to its calling—a short and informative piece of writing—while at the same time, I found it brought great depth to the subject matter at hand.

The author claims that the book will take the reader on a fascinating journey through time—and I must confess it did just that for me. Along the way, the intrinsic beauty and purity of that Pearl spoken of by our Lord Jesus Christ revealed itself ("Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all, as much as he had, and bought it." Matthew 13:45-46). As it sparkled and shined, I came to know its precious value more deeply than ever before, more deeply than I ever even imagined possible. The final destination for me? A much more powerful relationship with the victorious warrior Jesus Christ!

Upon opening The Pearl, I found myself immediately uplifted, then naturally swept along from chapter to chapter. As the author approached timeless topics that link our souls with God and eternity, he did so by focusing on the interplay of free will between the three main characters of eternal Christendom—the created angels, the un-created Jesus Christ, and created mankind—all through a study of the initial hours and days of the creation account as found in the first three chapters of Genesis.

This story, as presented in The Pearl by the author, truly was captivating as it reached its peak in Chapter 14: The War in Heaven. Here I saw shining forth the victory won by Jesus Christ directly after the cross through His descent into Hell, including that victory won over Satan in Hell through the breaking down of its gates, the calling forth of the saints, and the celebration there of the final Saturday Sabbath. I then landed triumphantly in Chapter 15 where I came to understand the true glory of the whole of the story that began in the bosom of the Father. In this resolution, our present triumphant state became clear. I came to understand that the blessed labor of our earthly physical life unto which Adam was once cast, but to which we are now called, is that which teaches us the blessed faith by which we now enter Paradise. Is this not the gospel story? It is! And that precious Pearl for which we should sell all (rid ourselves of all our human pride), as much as we have (remembering Satan's jealous pride), in order that we might obtain unto its glory.

I never learned so much about the creation account and the story of God as I did in this wonderful book. It really was true, this first book in the Paul's Primers series does present, for the reader in search of fine pearls, that one pearl of great price, the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its earliest and most fundamental form—as it existed in the time before time, even before the foundation of the world—and its practical application in the present day of each and every generation.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to you, and trust that you will enjoy your journey toward this "Pearl" as much as I did.
